Sometimes crazy ideas come to life! Hey, wouldn't it be fun to bring some girls from The Bachelor together and have a viewing party?! Sure, why not?! We went to work to make it happen.
We were thrilled when The W Fort Lauderdale agreed to partner with us! The resort is amazing and the staff could have not been more gracious hosts for the weekend!
Michelle Money, who has been on The Bachelor, Bachelor Pad and Bachelor in Paradise seemed to be the perfect hostess for the night. We were thrilled when she agreed to be our hostess! Becca Tilley, Samantha Steffen and Ashley Iaconetti, who were on the last season of The Bachelor, also joined the party! Sydney James, who has collaborated on two collections with Sugar Love and also has her own experience on reality TV, on the show Eric and Jessie: Game On, was also one of our special guests.
We spent the weekend getting to know the girls and they just couldn't have been any sweeter!
Monday was the big day! We spent the day getting the Wow Suite ready for the party! This suite was breath-taking and even featured pink lighting and a pink carpet leading to the door!
We were ready to welcome our guests! The girls spent some time taking pictures with fans before the show started!
The suite was packed and it was serious business when the show came on.
During the commercial breaks Michelle had the girls come up to answer fan questions and do giveaways!
Michelle and Becca looked stunning in their Sugar Love!
All in all, it was an amazing weekend!
Sometime dreams become reality. When I opened our online business, I always said I would never open a brick and mortar store. I have four children and a husband who travels for work, but to be honest, I was afraid. I was afraid to put myself out there and I was afraid of failure. Our online business had grown rapidly and I knew it was time to look at space. My husband, kids and girlfriends kept telling me to take the risk and open a store. I had said for years that our town needed a store like Sugar Love, but fear always got the best of me. I tell my kids to follow their dreams and I decided to take my own advice. So after many discussions and prayers, we started to look at retail space as a family.
We found the perfect space for our new store and went to work on designing how we wanted it to look and feel. The space needed to be warm and inviting with a touch of girly glam! We wanted lots of positive quotes and a candy bar for our customers to take some sugar with them!
We signed our lease in January and hoped to be able to host a Sneak Peek party the beginning of March. After many sleepless nights and lots of shopping...we were excited to show Fort Wayne what we had been working on.
We hosted our Sneak Peek party as planned the first week of March. It was an amazing day that we will never forget! Opening a family business has taught us many things and we continue to learn as we grow. It has really been a dream come true. We have loved bringing Sugar Love to life! If you live in the Fort Wayne area, come and see us! xo
If you live in a chilly climate, then you are probably dreaming of Spring!
We are busy shopping and stocking all of the Spring trends!
This season we are seeing lots of gingham and floral, black and white, culottes, colored suedes and sporty fashions.
That 70's boho look is also making a comeback with lots of palazzo pants, crochet vests, fringe and floppy hats.
Yellow is the color of the season! You will be seeing a lot of this sunny hue!
Stay tuned! We will be posting more new arrivals every week!
We were recently in Las Vegas, buying all of our Fall pieces, and we wanted to share the backstage access with you! We wish we could take all of you to pick out your favorite pieces, we love to hear your opinions via our Instagram!
We had the chance to take one of our favorite girls, Sydney James. You might know her from the E! reality show, "Eric and Jessie: Game On." She is a doll and has great style! We partnered with her to pick out some of her favorite items, which we now have a special tab for on our front page (Sydney's favorites).
We wanted to re-cap some of our shots so you had a chance to see our experience all in one place.
As far as buying, we were looking for fun, unique pieces, combined with soft, cozy classics that you can't live without! Sydney's style is a mix of boho-comfy, and her pieces reflect that relaxed, yet chic sense.
We got plaids, denim, leather, fur, knits, fringe...a lot of things that you will absolutely love in your wardrobe!
We started with some striped rompers for the late Summer/early Fall heatwaves:
Then we went for fur gold! And we can't wait to see these pieces in your winter wardrobe!
Plaid and sequins were high on the list:
Nobody can be sad when they're holding a cupcake or surrounded by clothes!
We had a vision for these fringe booties and we were dancing when we got them!
And, while in Vegas...work hard, play hard!
Some of Sydney's picks:
One of our favorites picks was this oversized ultra cozy vest:
Post Vegas, Sydney work her first pick, the Sailor top! How adorable are those stripes with crochet insets?!
September has us thinking about Fall, and in preparation, we have gathered the Fall '14 trends, straight from runway to kick us into cooler-weather gear. It's hard to let go of Summer, but nothing is impossible if you dress for it, right?
Matchy-Matchy Sets: Tops and bottoms that are made for each other are sure to save you some AM time.
Wrap Around Coats: These are cape-like, which is also a trend this fall. Solids or patterns.
Leopard: As we have learned in recent years, leopard is a neutral.
Animal Accents: Owls, Foxes, Cats...
Pastel: Usually seen in Spring, these sweet shades are making a Fall splash in textured materials materials & feminine coats.
Capes: This alternative to a coat is both chic and keeps you warm for days.
Blue is the Fall '14's color
Shierling: An alternative to fur that is more casual and equally warm.
Grey: This doesn't surprise us. Grey is a staple Fall color.
Statement bags: Speak your inner Beyonce through your oversized clutch.
Midi skirt: The trend continues, even for shortys.
Orange: There's a tone for every skin.
